I stopped making excuses

Will you too?

One of my goals this year was to start making videos.
Because I truly believe video is powerful for businesses.

People remember messages better when they see them. And it’s often easier to show things in a video than to explain them in 180 characters on X.

Still, I kept postponing it.

I was scared of:

  • Judgment

  • The camera

  • The time it takes to edit

But I remember how hard it felt when I first started writing on X.
Now, after 3 years of tweeting every day, it became a habit, it’s natural to post.

Last month, I got a nice surprise, a paycheck from X (1100€ 😮). So I decided to use that money to buy a camera.
I could have started with my phone, but you know… I was looking for excuses 🙃

My first videos will be bad
Maybe they’ll never be good.
Maybe I’ll stop after a few.
But at least I’ll have tried, and I won’t regret not starting.

So here’s my challenge: post 2 videos per week for at least a month.

No fancy edits, no pressure.

Just 15 minutes max from recording to adding subtitles and scheduling. If it takes longer, I’ll continue the next day.

Small steps. Easier to keep motivation.

I’m writing this to encourage you to start that thing you’ve been putting off.
Stop waiting for the “perfect” time. It doesn’t exist.

I’ll post my videos on X, and some on YouTube too here.

I started a few days ago, you can make fun of me (and Thomas, Uneed’s founder)

If you start the same challenge, let me know ☺️

And, I’m interested to know your feedback, do you like watching founder’s video?

My latest news:

- Subclip: the web version is now available with a cool UI, and is free to use for captions for the moment. We might tweak the business model in the following weeks

- Feedbask : live chat is now an available module 😊 you can install it for free!

- iacrea : Preparing big real estate event… Quite scary because we release a lot of new features.

- Refindie, 111 persons are onboard, growing slowly but I didn’t market it for a while as I would like to ship some new cool features first
